Under Construction

I hate that I haven't posted in forever, but I hate more that I haven't been crafting! :( We moved into my Grandparents house a year ago to take care of them, and we haven't had any room. But we are moving again this month, so there will be big changes coming to my craft blog! I have a lot planned and a lot in store...so hang in there a little longer! :)

Halloween Decoration

I have been wanting to craft so bad, but I don't have much time to craft let alone come up with an idea. So I went to Heartland Paper and bought this cute Halloween craft.

It was super easy. Just had to paint everything black and then mod-podge on the paper and words.

I'm BACK! :)

OK, I know it's been forever! At least it feels that way. I have been craving crafting!!!! But my life has been turned upside down! We have moved into my Grandparents to take care of them. So I will be crafting still, just not as much as I would like.

We went camping recently and was able to do a craft! I had these wood pieces and decided to make a birthday countdown since I love my birthday! I LOVE the way it turned out!

All I did was paint them, then mod-podged the paper squares, numbers and stickers on. It took me a 1/2 hour!

(No it's not 18 days till my birthday)

Pizza Sign

I have had this pizza board for 5 1/2 years.  I have always wanted to paint it and hang it in the kitchen.  Well, I finally found the right stencils.

I love painting...it is probably my favorite craft! (And I love sunflowers!)

Tasty Tuesday

This weeks recipe is from "The Essential Mormon Cookbook"

Meltaway Cookies

1cup butter
3/4 cup cornstarch
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 cup flower
1 recipe cream cheese frosting (see below)

In a medium bowl cream butter until fluffy.  Add cornstarch and sugar and blend well.  Beat in flour until thoroughly mixed. Drop by small teaspoons onto baking sheet and flatten out with the bottom of a glass. (Dip glass in powdered sugar to prevent sticking) Bake at 350 degrees F, for 10 to 12 minutes.  Cool on wire rack and frost with cream cheese frosting.

Cream Cheese Frosting

1 (3oz.) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Mix all ingredients together.  Color with food coloring if desired.

These were the simplest cookies I have ever made!  And they really do melt in your mouth!

Memory Monday

Memory Monday is a little different today.  I found some ugly, square frames at a dollar store.  I thought it would be fun to make them over.  So, I sprayed them with primer and painted them.

Then, I added some ribbon to make them looked tied together.  (Note, if you do this make sure the staples aren't longer then the frame is thick...other wise they poke through! Lesson learned!)
I put wedding photos in them since our colors were black, white and yellow.  I am loving the way they turned out! :)
